The astrologer behind this website is Nikola Djuric. He was born on 15 January 1995 in Belgrade, Serbia, and grew up in Lazarevac, a small coal-mining town in central Serbia. After finishing elementary school he spent a year in Belgrade before coming back to Lazarevac to finish high school. He later studied French language and literature at Belgrade’s Faculty of Philology, which he unfortunately dropped out of.
From a young age, Nikola spent a lot of time in the village with his grandma and grandpa on his mother’s side. There he had the luck to speak to elderly folk who told him a great many folk stories, stories with a lot of the supernatural in them. Topics like vampires, fairies and many other creatures from Serbian folklore amazed him. Supernatural activity was nothing strange to him. At that young age the old folk would also show him how to use rituals in the form of white magic and witchcraft. Occultism became his field of interest.
During that time he would also spend hours wondering what the connection is between the Moon and the stars and all those things we do not see. Is there something that shows us the way and explains how this world around us works?
One time he was at his cousin’s hair salon to get his haircut. His cousin had just had business cards made for the salon. She wanted Nikola to have one so that he could always call and get an appointment. In that very moment she wrote his name, and next to the name she wrote CAPRICORN. That word rang inside Nikola’s mind so hard that he asked his mother and his cousin what it meant. His mother answered that it is your star sign, that is what you are “in the horoscope”. Horoscopes are made from the stars and the Moon.
From that moment on he started asking the older folk of the village whether they knew anything about horoscopes. Serbia was, and still is, a very religious country, and astrology was condemned as the devil’s practice. The old folk would just shut the topic down and tell him to stay away from it. That got him wondering again: how can we speak about supernatural evil forces every day and use practices against them, but we cannot speak about the stars that are so far away? What could the Moon and the stars be at fault for? They are just shining during the night, giving us the comfort that even in the darkness we have a glimpse of what is in front of us.
All that talk of astrology and horoscopes being heresy did not stop him. Nikola kept asking younger generations about star signs until his older sister gave him a big encyclopaedia. Nikola could not read at that time, but he would look at the pictures of the planets and the Moon and the stars, wondering again where they are and what is beyond this world around him. From that moment on he asked his mum and dad to buy him more encyclopaedias. When he started reading, the interest spilled over onto the rest of the pages. Palaeontology, biology, geography, history and physics became his fields of study.
During his elementary school years Nikola attended Orthodox Bible classes. In those classes he would hear a lot about what kind of behaviour is heresy and the devil’s way of thinking: especially astrology. The sciences may be right, but the Church’s and God’s word are the last word. He asked a lot of questions. The pivotal one was: “How is everyone a believer and a child of God when we all question God’s word?”
Looking around and noticing how cynical people were when it came to religion, and how much they preached about believing and being believers while committing the biggest sins, he parted ways with the Bible classes. He decided that there must be something more to explain the how and the why of all of this, of how this world works. How is it that we are all so different and special, that we all lead different lives, love other people, have different personalities and yet we have to follow ten sentences in one book that calls other books inaccurate? That would mean that we should all be the same, lead the same life, love only one gender; that there should be no inequalities, no divorces, just pure love for God and his word.
In high school he started finding books about astrology and reading them. He did not practise doing horoscopes at that time. He used that period of his life simply to try to explain to himself how we are, and what we are, and why we are, and who we are. He stumbled upon one old Yugoslav book which stated: “Astrology: an ancient forgotten science older than 3,500 years, which gave birth to psychology…” After researching and finding answers, he never again questioned whether astrology is valid.
During his final year of high school Nikola started working in gastronomy as a waiter. Communicative as he is, he would talk to the guests and always ask about their star signs, giving them a short prognosis on the spot.
He moved to Belgrade in 2013 to study. There he continued to work as a waiter and to research astrology further. Being in a capital city, he found more and more books about this ancient science and craft. It was not until 2018, when he had just started working in a café in Belgrade’s city centre, that he met a lady called Jasmina. Jasmina was a checker in that café, and they started talking about all sorts of unconventional topics. In the heat of those conversations, Jasmina mentioned that she is an astrologer. The journey took off for Nikola in that very moment. In the most humble way: Nikola would not be who he is today as an astrologer if Jasmina had not spent sleepless nights with him going over every astrological topic. She is his mentor, his colleague and his best friend. The most important lesson she taught him was the ethics of astrology. Nikola started doing horoscopes in 2019.
Nikola moved to Austria in 2020, where he came across even more books and did more research, lifting his craft and his knowledge. During his Saturn return he came across Vesna, a prolific astrologer with over 30 years in the business, who honed his talents in the months to come. Fusing traditional astrology with modern, Nikola shaped into the astrologer he is today.
Memorable mentions are two amazing astrologers, Jelena and Ljiljana, who also never turned their heads away if he ever had questions.
Today Nikola is very thankful for having found his craft, his love and his direction in life. He vowed long ago to practise astrology not for personal gain, but to explain it, to bring it in the most accurate way to people around the world, and to help anyone who crosses his path with his craft. Today he is writing his astrological journal on this website, and he hopes in the future to write books that will explain even more about how the planets, the stars, the Sun, the Moon and the universe function, and how we are a part of it all. He hopes to explain the things that are lasting and coming, and in the end becoming…
